Since 1955, Varvel has been manufacturing mechanical gearboxes and speed variators for all types of applications. Located in Bologna, in the Emilia-Romagna region, Varvel designs and manufactures gearboxes that will equip machines and equipment installed in more than 65 countries.
The gearbox range is very extensive, designed to equip automotive equipment, construction machinery, applications installed in glass and ceramic manufacturing plants, equipment for the chemical industry, automatic doors and barriers, agricultural and agri-food machinery, ovens, machine tools, mining and quarrying applications, power generation equipment, and textile manufacturing machines.

Varvel worm gearboxes RT / FRT / MRT
Our range of Varvel worm gearboxes and geared motors is available from 0.06 to 24.9 Kw power. We offer RT type square gearboxes that can equip all types of machines. We can also replace gearboxes and geared motors of equivalent brands.
Our range of RT type square mechanical gearboxes is available from 14 to 42mm output shaft diameter. They are available with a hollow shaft, a male shaft or a double output shaft.
We offer RT series input shaft gearboxes, FRT type gearboxes that will accept IEC B5 or B14 motors, and MRT type geared motors.
We also offer gearboxes with NEMA input and square flanges for servo motor installation upon request.
You will also find gearboxes equipped with TA type pre-torque and RT/RT type combined gearboxes available up to a ratio of 1/10 000.
Our entire range of worm gearboxes can be equipped with options such as single or double output shafts, torque arms, specific bearings, torque limiters, limit switches, reduced backlash, viton seals, or Atex standard gearboxes for applications installed in explosive atmospheres.

Varvel round gearboxes and geared motors RS / FRS / MRS
The range of worm gearboxes and geared motors is also available in a round shape; they have the same mechanical characteristics as the square gearboxes but with different dimensions. They can equip packaging machines, conveyors, mixers... and can also replace equivalent brand gearboxes without any modification. We offer:

RD / FRD / MRD Inline Helical Gearboxes
Varvel inline helical gearboxes have excellent efficiency and a modular housing. We offer 7 sizes of gearboxes with 2 or 3 gear stages. Gearboxes from size 0 to 4 are made of aluminum, and gearboxes from sizes 5 and 6 are made of cast iron.
They have a torque ranging from 55 to 2300 Nm, making them suitable for pumps, agricultural handling machines, conveyors, and all other applications requiring excellent efficiency and exceptional reliability.
Our coaxial gearboxes are available from a ratio of 1/2.25 to 1/630, and can be equipped with asynchronous motors with or without brakes. We also offer Atex standard gearboxes and geared motors.
Our gearboxes require very little maintenance and feature an IEC mounting system, allowing for the installation of all types of motors. This system also facilitates maintenance.
The standardized dimensions allow for the replacement of equivalent brand gearboxes and geared motors without any mechanical modifications. Furthermore, our team can assist you in determining the right geared motors for all types of applications.

Varvel Bevel Helical Gearboxes and Gearmotors RO / RV / R2O
Varvel bevel helical gearboxes are available in horizontal and vertical mounting, offering very high efficiency to increase output torque and reduce energy consumption.
The housing of the orthogonal gearboxes is made of aluminum for sizes 1 to 4 and cast iron for sizes 5 and 6. They can equip robust machines requiring continuous production. We offer the Varvel bevel helical gearbox range with shaft diameters from 25 to 70mm.
Our range of orthogonal gearboxes can easily replace equivalent brand gearboxes or be installed in new setups. They can effortlessly drive a conveyor, a shredder, a mixer, a lift, a chain conveyor, and any other industrial application. Upon simple request, they can be equipped with a torque arm or an output flange to facilitate their installation on your application.
We offer the following gearboxes and geared motors:
- Bevel helical gearbox with 3 gear stages, horizontal mounting RO / FRO / MRO
- Bevel helical gearbox with 3 gear stages, vertical mounting RV / FRV / MRV

All our range is offered in IEC B5 or B14 mounting with coupling or keyed hollow shaft input. They can be equipped with a three-phase or single-phase asynchronous motor, with or without a brake.
Do you need to equip machines installed in an explosive atmosphere? No problem, the entire range is also available in an Atex version. They can also be equipped with specific paint for food applications, backstops for inclined conveyors, or single or double output shafts.
Varvel Parallel Shaft Gearboxes and Geared Motors RN / FRN / MRN
Our range of Varvel mechanical parallel shaft gearboxes and geared motors is available with 2 and 3 gear stages. We offer a wide range of gearboxes available from 120 to 3300 Nm of torque. They accept all types of IEC electric motors from size 56 to 180 in B5 and B14.
As a Varvel gearboxes assembly center in France, we are able to assemble many types of gearboxes for fast delivery throughout France and Belgium.

Varvel Mechanical Variators, discover our VR and VS ranges.
Our range of Varvel mechanical variators is offered in 2 versions. We offer VR mechanical variators and VS mechanical variators. This type of component, often installed between the electric motor and the mechanical gearbox, allows you to vary the rotation speed of your conveyor, pump, or any other type of application. Offered with feet or flange mounting, they can receive IEC motors from 0.09 to 1.5Kw for the VR range and motors from 0.18 to 4Kw for the VS series.
