Gamak is the leading manufacturer of electric motors in Turkey. Founded in 1961 in Istanbul, Gamak aimed to fill the absence of a national product in Turkey. Electric motors were and still are essential for Turkish and European industry. The creation of Gamak helped to eliminate the cost and supply problems of imported electric motors at the time.

Gamak began producing cast iron electric motors in 1965 in sizes 71, 80, and 90. They also produced washing machine motors.
The following year, in 1965, Gamak started producing cast iron motors in sizes 100, 112, and 132, and also began producing three-phase motors in aluminum in sizes 71 and 90.
In 1966, bolstered by the quality of its products, the production of cast iron motors in size 160 and aluminum motors in size 80 began. Gamak ended the decade by manufacturing cast iron motors in sizes 180 and 200 in the years '68.
The 1970s were also important for Gamak. They launched the manufacturing of cast iron asynchronous motors in sizes 225, 250, and 315 from 1970 to 1977. They also produced aluminum motors in sizes 56 and 63 in the 1971s.
Due to this significant growth, Gamak had to relocate and increase its production volume in 1980. The increase in production area allowed for the creation of cast iron motors in size 355 and an increase in the number of projects.
In 2005, to meet local market demand, Gamak began producing cast iron motors in size 400 and started producing aluminum motors in sizes 160 and 180.
From 2010, Gamak committed to producing medium voltage motors 3500v – 400Kw and improved its test laboratory to control their motors under load up to 900Kw and 11Kv.
The following year, size 450 motors were introduced.
From 2012, the ecodesign standard came into being. The factory had to adapt to IE1 and IE2 efficiencies and began producing AGM and AGM2E motors, evolving to the IE3 standard in 2015 with its Elite AGM3EL motor range.

Gamak's strength lies in offering almost all needs for electric motors for industry. With a range of three-phase motors, single-phase electric motors and medium-voltage motors, Gamak offers one of the widest ranges of industrial motors in Europe.
Aluminum motors are currently offered from size 56 to size 200, and cast iron motors are manufactured from size 132 to size 630. They can be used in many applications such as pumps, fans, machine tools, mechanical reducers, and all other agricultural and industrial applications.

High-efficiency IE2 Gamak electric motors have been produced since 2012. Available in Aluminum from 0.12 to 30Kw and in cast iron from 3 to 400 Kw, they are perfectly suited for many applications. They must be powered by a frequency converter from 0.75kw since 2021. They are available in 2, 4, and 6 poles and can be equipped with numerous options.
High-efficiency IE3 Gamak motors, an industrial standard for sustainable reduction of your energy consumption.
As explained above, Gamak is now looking to the future. Since 2015, high-efficiency IE3 motors have been manufactured at the Istanbul factory. This industrial standard allows for an immediate and sustainable reduction in the power consumed by your electric motor. Available from 0.55 Kw, IE3 motors have become essential in industry.
